Toilet Paper. Why do people take it so seriously?

I am not talking about the bears dancing across your television screen promoting the softest roll you can buy. I am talking about something much simpler. Why do people stay so loyal to the same supplier?
When this blog was originally written, I mentioned having spent more than 25 years, and really closer to 32, immersed in the world of commercial washrooms. Today, more than 20 years have passed since those words were first published, and it is remarkable how quickly time moves. Our company has continued to evolve, bringing new products, better technology, and improved solutions to our customers, while the values that built Corporate Facility Supply have remained exactly the same.
One thing has remained constant. People do not like change, especially when it comes to washroom products.
Why?
The answer is simple. We all value consistency.
The real question is whether you are getting the right kind of consistency.
Is your supplier providing the same product every time you order? Does it arrive when you need it? Can you count on the quality being the same from one shipment to the next?
Price often becomes the only thing people compare, but it should not be the only consideration.
Think about it this way. If you are receiving consistent quality, dependable service, and fair pricing, there may not be a reason to change. After all, there is no need to fix something that is not broken.
That said, it never hurts to take a look once in a while. Make sure the apples your current supplier is offering are still as crisp as everyone else's.
Or, in this case, as soft.
